Background
Jefferson Health, one of the leading hospital and healthcare systems in Pennsylvania, operates more than 20 hospitals and provides medical services across more than 200 specialized centers, programs, departments and divisions. They were in need of a new website that consolidated all of their separate locations into one easy to navigate database, along with a fresh new design and modern functionality.
My Role
My primary role was to configure templates and componentry, map and perform content migrations and manually build out pages. I also conducted visual and technical QA to identifying display issues or missing features with componentry, and working with developers to get them looking and functioning properly.
I wrote and implemented the taxonomy created to categorize pages. This allowed us to tag locations, conditions, treatments, and doctors, and reference one another to make the site searchable and easy to navigate.
I was also in charge of identifying pieces of content that were repeatedly used across the website and creating content and experience fragments to dynamically author pages to ensure consistency. I used the information I complied throughout the project to write documentation for the 5 part authoring guide that we handed off to the client.
Solution
We created a brand new design system for Jefferson that had over 25 different components with a variety of configuration and authoring options. We used combinations of these components and variations to build out 20 different page templates, using them to migrate and consolidate location and provider pages, and built out a dynamic search functionality for users to quickly find the info they need and schedule an appointment with ease. We also migrated and authored core pages, conditions and treatments, and blog articles.
